I was born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in May of 1965. I have always created pictures and from an early age was very encouraged to do so and seemed to be able to express myself well through drawing and constructing things. I did not paint until my early twenties, but found it to be a wonderfully creative way to create beautiful images. My great grandfather James Scott Taylor was an accomplished artist and both my grandmother and mother paint as well.
I never did fully embrace my art and in my mid twenties became involved in a career in the institutional cleaning industry (selling soap basically). I worked in that industry for 20 years, and now with the sale of my former company I am in a position to move to a full time career painting and drawing. My favorite subjects are landscapes, wildlife, golf scenes, and paintings that tell a story, and draw the viewer into them. I tend to work in careful detail and try never to produce a piece that is rushed or done carelessly.
This website currently displays a variety of my selected works. There are watercolour, pastel, pen and ink, and acrylic works on display here. I have limited edition prints for sale, art cards, reproductions, and selected originals as well. As new works are produced they will be added to the website along with any related product offerings. One of my main areas of focus will be commissioned paintings. I will be very open to doing commissioned paintings, and will provide the customer with the options of limited edition prints of the commission, as well as cards of it also.
With much help and encouragement I am looking forward towards a long term career of painting. My favorite thing about painting is being able to share a gift with others and to produce works that not only bare meaning to me but for the viewers as well. There is no feeling better then producing something with your heart and soul in it, and having someone else see that in the work and appreciate it.
I sincerely hope all visitors to this site enjoy the work on display here. Anyone interested in purchasing a product from me is encouraged to contact me as I would be happy to discuss any questions you may have.
